Morgan A. has been with Enterprise less than a year, but she’s already made quite the career shift.
Her Enterprise experience began in the Frontier Operating Group as a part-time Customer Assistance Representative while attending college. The part-time position gave her the means and opportunity to further her education, so she could ultimately pursue a career in the field she loves – Information Technology.
Morgan describes her experience as a part-time employee and full-time student completing a computer science degree as, “exhausting yet rewarding.”
“I’ve worked several customer service jobs, and my Enterprise experience was by far the best,” says Morgan. “From the beginning, I was grateful for the opportunity, especially since that’s how I paid for my education.”
Morgan was also profoundly impacted by her manager at the time who supported and challenged her.
“My manager invested a lot time into my personal and professional development,” she says. “I’m so appreciative of his commitment to properly train me and teach me to handle difficult situations. He had my back, no matter what.”
Pursuing her potential
As graduation drew closer, Morgan searched for jobs in her field that not only offered opportunities to grow, but were places she could see herself working long term. Morgan, an avid video gamer and artist in her free time, also values work-life balance.
“In college, my professors often talked about the potential of a computer science career,” says Morgan. “It’s a field with a lot of mobility and room for growth, with a high emphasis on staying current. Enterprise aligned with that potential and checked all the boxes, so I knew I wanted to stay with the organization.”
Ultimately, with the encouragement from her manager and the voices of her professors echoing in her mind, she applied for an IT position in St. Louis, where Enterprise Headquarters and the main IT campuses are located.
Working the dream
Morgan accepted an IT Engineer position earlier this year and made the move to St. Louis.
“The experience with my new team has been nothing short of outstanding,” says Morgan. “They patiently took time to get me up to speed on various projects and helped me acclimate to the new environment.”
The company culture and highly collaborative environment have made the past few months a surreal reality for Morgan.
“I’m really excited about my future with Enterprise,” she says. “I can’t wait to grow through the ranks as an engineer, but I’ll never forget how my career started and the people who helped get me where I am today.”
