During Women’s History Month we’ve been taking time to honor and celebrate the important contributions made by women in society and at Enterprise. We’re grateful to work alongside many talented women, including Enterprise Truck Rental Group Truck Rental Manager Dusty R., who for over 10 years has proven the tangible and intangible value she brings to her teams – and Enterprise.
Dusty shares more about herself and how she worked her way up the ranks to become the first female Group Truck Rental Manager in Canada.
I’m incredibly inspired by my colleagues who are resilient with their work each day. As a leader, I work to create a team culture where everyone feels empowered to lead with greatness and win.
Dusty joined Enterprise Truck Rental in 2010 as a Management Trainee in Central Canada. Since then, she’s advanced through many roles, including Business Rental Sales Executive and Provincial Truck Manager, making impactful differences along the way. Dusty also made her mark as the first woman to hold the Area Truck Rental Manager and Group Truck Rental Manager positions in Canada.
Most recently, she was promoted to Group Truck Rental Manager of Southwest Ontario in January. In this role, Dusty is responsible for overseeing sales, fleet, and customer service efforts. as well as the development of her team’s talent.
She credits much of her success to her ambitious nature and results-driven mindset.
“I’m motivated by results and outcomes. I’m competitive in nature, so I’m always striving to be the best in all that I do,” says Dusty. “I’m incredibly inspired by my colleagues who are resilient with their work each day. As a leader, I work to create a team culture where everyone feels empowered to lead with greatness and win. It’s important we surround ourselves with people who are also hungry and driven to succeed.”
Reflecting on her career, Dusty emphasizes the important role mentors have played in her own development.
“Throughout the years, I’ve been lucky to have wonderful mentors who have helped guide me,” says Dusty. “When I started my career at Enterprise, I was part of a formal mentor program with current Assistance Vice President of Business Rental Development Ian Dale. Recently, he even helped me prepare for my new role as Group Truck Manager.”
For others looking to drive their career and make valuable contributions across the business, Dusty encourages them to be eager to take on opportunities.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been presented with many new opportunities. I have moved many times and Enterprise has supported me throughout each of these moves,” says Dusty. “I encourage other women and employees to raise their hand and be confident in moving throughout the process.”
